½ cup solid vegetable shortening
½ cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups 10x sugar
2 tbsp milk
In a large bowl, cream butter and shortening w/ mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy. (Can add an extra 1 – 2 tbsp milk to make icing easy to spread).
